“I love challenges. It’s always good to step out of the comfort zone, and this channel documents one such journey. Rock music is not young and new anymore, so we can say it is enduring the test of time. If it has any significant value it deserves more than mere casual listening. Often, what is not instantly relatable holds the deepest meaning and value, so I decided to put time and effort into looking deeply to see what Rock offers us. I’m making this journey public and hope you enjoy it and are inspired to take a new challenge, too!”

Isn’t it amazing how just the music itself can be so descriptive? In this first listen, I heard ONLY the music, and yet, it conveyed ideas which I found out afterwards were in the video clip!

#virginrock #earthside #jamievandyck I took a different approach for this one, talking to the composer BEFORE listening to any of his, or Earthside’s, music. It was a lot of fun, and he chose an excellent “starter” piece for me by recommending this song. I truly enjoyed it, and I’m eager to explore more of their music! Some of theirs that I recommend are The Light, Reason to Fight (the live video is emotional), and Hold on to Memories
You CAN'T listen to thus song and not watch the video
prince sooooo much better
The perfect blend of sweetness and power produced the most heavenly sound I have ever heard emanating from a human soul. I’m late to this party so it’s quite likely nobody will ever read this. Regardless, I always take any opportunity to tell the world how much I love Linda Ronstadt’s voice! I’m of the opinion that hers is the most beautiful female voice on the planet. It’s tragic that her ability to sing has been taken away by Supranuclear palsy and she was forced to retire in 2009. Thank goodness for the many recordings and live performances available. I hope you have explored more of her music. I will browse through your videos to find out. I have just discovered your channel and will subscribe. I have enjoyed this video. 🌺✌️
Wow, never heard this mega crap before.
The analysis was annoying. 🙄
their live version is so much better than the studio
you bring me Happiness thankyou
With doublespeed it's only 9 minute song..
Amy you want do anything for love asthat is a genius song about a very moral guy
What a load of krap! This channel is going down the sewer!
Hi, great video. Around 31:00 you say that John Lennon is saying in this song: "you think I'm a superstar, but actually I'm down, I'm down". Interestingly, side B of this single was a song called "I'm Down", sung by Paul.
Im gonna hold a flame of hope up and ask for a Kid A Album Reaction by Radiohead. Pretty much any song would be interesting to see from that album but perhaps the first one "everything in its right place" would be the best to start with as it defines the rest of the album pretty well
We're closer to having her listen to Kid A at some point god BLESS
Classical music was/is metal. Look at how Beethoven wrote music for instruments that didn’t exist at the time. Vivaldi was metal (La Folia). You should listen to Wolf Hoffmann’s album Headbangers Symphony. You should listen to I’m Not a Vampire and Revamped (I’m pretty sure the guitar solo in the original is from a classical piece that I like, but can’t place). The Drug In Me Is You and reimagined, Last Resort by Papa Roach and Last Resort reimagined by FiR. Great reaction

So there's a lot more to the backstory of this performance. Cobain and his best friend, Mark Lanegan, used to spend days listening to Leadbelly music. And one day, Sub Pop asked Lanegan and Cobain if they would do an album with covers from Leadbelly. They said yes, took thee advance money but eventually almost spent everything on H. But they still managed to spend a day together (with also Kris Novoselic) to record a cover of "Where did you sleep last night?" with Cobain playing guitar and singing the back vocals and Novoselic on Bass, that ended on Lanegan's first solo album, The Winding Sheet, released in 1990. Fast forward to 1994, Nirvana is now one of the biggest group and they are about to do their MTV unplugged. Cobain then got in touch with Mark Lanegan, asking him if he wanted to join their concert as a feat, and sing "Where did you sleep last night?" with them. Lanegan refused, feeling that it would be unfair from him to benefit from what should be the celebration of Nirvana's work and music. Despite Cobain ang Grohl insistence, Lanegan said no. So Cobain told him that it was okay, but that in his honour, he will sing it the way Big Mark would sing that song. And if you listen to Lanegan's version from 1990, you will hear a lot of similarities with the MTV unplugged version.
Another interesting band you can react to is Sleep Token, particularly a song called "The Summoning" or "Take me back to Eden" which mixes genres (as many other bands) but in that case mixes metal and rock with R&B and ambient music
It was instinctive to Paul McCartney to use an F7 because he listened to the blues.
at this pace it will take a while to get to skrillez (jk)
16:40 - I've heard this song hundreds of times but never noticed how much the guitar sounds like a sax there. Awesome
You may have to listen to March of the Black Queen from thier second Album Queen II or Fairy Feller Master Stroke
At least she didn’t start with “Ronald”
Ths reminds me of one of Mozarts pieces, its something i could see him doing.
It doesn't matter whether he was right or wrong in his aspirations and hopes, the point is that a better world is within our grasp. Unlikely to happen, but there it is. Thank you for your work on this, Amy and Vlad.
Diese Musik klingt nach nichts. Keine Seele, gar nichts. Nur Computertöne aus 20 Musikgenres zusammengeschnippelt.
I love this song , it is so different and intelligent. An exclusive amount of changes
Roger stated in an interview that all the clapping and stumping was made with a delay by using prime numbers (that's what you get when you have a mathematician and a physicist in a group 😮 that's Brian) and it created a sound where the delays don't interfere with each other so you have a consistent sound... And yes, no instruments were used, just claps and stumps and just a little bit of a guitar at the end ...
you should consider reviewing this one too ...the greatest live guitar solo I've ever seen ruclips.net/video/dWRCooFKk3c/видео.html
Watch this .... Purple Rain ( in torrential rain ) from about 4.55 in , will underline what an incredible talent he was ruclips.net/video/g6VI7_VCO40/видео.html
I never clicked on a video so fast 😂. You absolutely MUST check out the live version of this. Or at least check out some of his nearly operatic vocals in I'm Not a Vampire Revamped. His cover of Last Resort is absolutely stunning as well. Ronnie is a truly talented artist.
imagine the joy of being able to hear this incredible song for the firs time again ... I'm almost jealous you got to hear this masterpiece for the first time .... but at the same time , sorry that you've never got to hear it before now .
I can't believe of all these comments nobody told you to listen to the original off Origin...
The joy on your face when you find a particular segment you like is truly heartwarming! Thank you for giving some of these older gems a new listen! After hearing your reaction (the entire reaction), I feel I have better understanding of the musicality of the piece. Thank you Amy
I believe you would really enjoy 'Last Resort (Reimagined)' or 'The Drug in Me Is You (Reimagined).' By the way, Ronnie is perfectly fine with people reacting to his music, and there are no copyright issues.
something more your style by FIR should check out The Drug in me is you and then the reimagined version (double feature to compare them) then i'm not a vampire and the revamped version (again double feature) lastly Last Resort reimagined originally by Papa Roach
I'd like to say that although you seem very kind and your ba kground shows that you are learned in the art of music, I think you are not doing any justice to prince, to music, or yourself, by listening to 1 single song, a 5 minute song, and then commenting for another 25 minutes, especially without knowing any background on The artist, and knowing only one other rock band to compare the two. Please understand that I'm not trying to be negative or mean-spirited, but to hear your analogy of this song is not doing anyone any good. Without explaining to you where I think your breakdown of the song "Purple Rain" is very far from its true meaning, I would simply tell you this. Save this video, do as you said you would and look further into Prince, as a man, an artist, a musician, and as a songwriter. In 3 months, come back to this video. If after watching it again, you still feel that "Purple Rain" is as you described here, than I apologize in advance. But if you watch this video again, and see how bad of an idea this was for you, then hopefully you won't make another video assuming and comparing people and music without any solid foundation tobase it on. Just my opinion. Thank you
Modern you say? Sleep Token is the band to check ;)
You can't be a serious musician if you've never heard of Prince at your age.
feels like you missing half the story without seeing the video that goes alongside their songs, they're very highly produced and help tell the story
I wish such talented musicians would never grow old and live forever. So that the next generations will listen to Queen's songs and can cry and rejoice as much as you do. But...
Many of them do have, as you say, crude expressions. These expressions are really just part of modern vernacular. I am not a big fan either. But as much as I would prefer no cursing (as there is probably a 'better' way of expressing the thought), I like electric guitar more. so I put up with it. I feel like an old man saying, "it's just how the kids talk." While a bit cliche, it is also accurate. Also, this is quite the song to use to dip your toe into Falling in Reverse it is a very "in your face' song. They offer a wide range of musical offerings. hope you do more, the group and Ronnie really are amazing. Other comments are already leading you to various other songs of theirs I am sure. All the best.
I love the Classic part of this masterpiece. This Is a rock opera and Mark knopfler Is a great composer. 14 Min of wonderful music on the telegraph Road. Thank you for your reaction.
I like her

Just shut up and listen 😂
Funny thing is that acoustic guitar he’s playing is the most valuable guitar ever sold now, over 6 million dollars.
Caption competition: Amy's expression at 22:19
Definitely do a video on their songs the drug in me is reimagined, I’m not a vampire revamped. It’s in your wheelhouse
The basic tracks of this song were recorded live from the first time it was ever performed.
